Concept & Design Execution
In reimagining this 1928 French Tudor residence, the design approach centers on elevating the home’s architectural integrity while introducing a refined, contemporary sensibility. The project embraces the original Tudor framework—steep gables, substantial materials, and disciplined geometry—and leverages these characteristics as a foundation for a more nuanced, modern expression of European elegance.
The interiors are curated to highlight balance and restraint: natural stone and richly grained woods establish a grounded material language, while wrought-iron detailing provides a purposeful contrast through clean, sculptural lines. A muted palette and thoughtfully selected antiques reinforce continuity with the home’s heritage, yet the composition feels intentional rather than nostalgic. Light plays a critical role, filtering through mullioned windows to accentuate arched transitions, layered textiles, and subtle tonal shifts throughout the space.
The resulting environment is both sophisticated and deeply rooted in context—an interpretation of French Tudor design that honors tradition while asserting a distinctly modern point of view.
